The new partially organylsubstituted polycyclophosphanes (P7Pr4H)-H-i,
iso-(P7Pr4H)-H-i, (P8Pr5H)-H-i, (P9Pr4H)-H-i, and (P10PrH)-H-i5 have
been obtained by reaction of (PrPCl2)-P-i with PCl3 and magnesium and
subsequent chromatographic work-up of the crude reaction product conta
ining isopropylphosphorus magnesium compounds. According to P-31 NMR s
pectroscopic investigations, (P7Pr4H)-H-i is ,3,5,6-tetraisopropylbicy
clo[2.2.1]heptaphosphane, iso-(P7Pr4H)-H-i is hydrogen tetraisopropylb
icyclo[2.2.1]heptaphosphane (P8Pr5H)-H-i is hydrogen pentaisopropylbic
yclo[3.3.0]octaphosphane (two constitutional isomers), (P9Pr4H)-H-i is
hydrogen tetraisopropyltricyclo[3.3.1.0(3,7)]nonaphosphane (two confi
gurational isomers), and (P10Pr5H)-H-i is -pentaisopropyltricyclo[5.2.
1.0(2,6)]decaphosphane (two configurational isomers).
