The substituted barium ferrites BaFe12-2xCoxSnxO19 (0 less than or equ
al to x less than or equal to 1.4) and BaFe12-2xCoxTixO19 (0 less than
or equal to x less than or equal to 0.9) have been studied. The site
occupancies, as determined from Mossbauer spectra, have been used to i
nterpret the changes in the magnetization and in the crystalline aniso
tropy.
