Abstract
The possible application of thermogravimetry,, gas chromatography, hyd riding-dehydriding, and emf of a high-temperature solid-electrolyte ga lvanic cell to the determination of the O/U atomic ratio in UO2-x is i nvestigated. The studied methods have an analytical uncertainty of +/- 0.001 O/U units. However, the emf method, which is highly accurate nea r the stoichiometric composition, is applicable only for homogeneous U O2-x. The useful range of the emf method can be expanded for analyzing substoichiometric UO2.
