Abstract
We report the clinical, radiographic, pathologic, and immunohistochemi cal features of a patient with widespread meningeal carcinomatosis fro m renal cell carcinoma. Clear and spindle tumor cell subtypes infiltra ted the meninges of the cauda equina, oculomotor nerve, spinal cord, a nd cerebral hemispheres, forming abortive glandular or tubular aggrega tes without evidence of parenchymal invasion. Cytokeratin epitopes wer e labeled immunohistochemically with Cam 5.2 antibodies, but epithelia l membrane antigen and neuron-specific enolase were not present.
