Abstract
Existing models for predicting end breakage rates in spinning give unr ealistic values when considering the effects of changes in count or sp eed on the worsted ring frame. A new approach to predicting end breaks gives results that are closer to experience values. The most importan t factor in determining end breaks is yam strength variation, followed by mean yam strength and spinning tension.
