As was revealed by biochemical methods under in vitro conditions epibr
assinolide (10(-7) M) increased ATPase activity of plasma membranes is
olated in sucrose isopicnic density gradient from tetraploid buckwheat
(Fagopyrum esculentum Moench.) seedlings and did not change it in dip
loid ones within 30 min of exposure. Under in vivo conditions epibrass
inolide (10(-7) M, 30 min) inhibited ATPase activity of plasma membran
es irrespective of buckwheat seedling ploidy. The total ATPase activit
y increased by 35% in tetraploid seedlings and decreased twice in dipl
oid ones. It was due to similar changes in the activity of ATPases tha
t were not inhibited by uabain and orthovanadate.
