Fe-57 Mossbauer experiments have been performed on the Li0.5+0.5tFe2.5
-1.5tTitO4 ferrite system (t = 0, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0) without and in extern
al magnetic fields up to 6 T at 4.2 K and above. The samples up to t =
0.8 exhibit collinear ferrimagnetic order and an iron distribution ov
er the A and B sites according to the formula of Blasse. The sample Li
FeTiO4 exhibits spin canting. In contrast to other compounds, the cant
ing angle increases with increasing applied field for both A and B sit
es. The iron distribution ratio differs from the expected value of 1.0
.
