Mossbauer measurements in a-(Fe0.765Mn0.235)(78)Sn2Si6B14 have been pe
rformed with Fe-57 and Sn-119. Both hyperfine fields show a ''kink'' n
ear 70 K, indicating a freezing of the transverse spins. The ratio of
the two hyperfine fields contains information about the correlation of
the transverse spins. The ratio B-hf(Sn)/B-hf(Fe) stays constant abov
e T-xy and rises below T-xy. This indicates an alignment of the transv
erse spins on a local scale, as was also found in AuFe and a-FeZr.
