V. Bertrand et al., STATIC STUDY OF COMPLEX PLANAR STRUCTURES APPLICATION TO THE EXCITATION MODELING OF LINES ANALYZED BY THE FINITE-DIFFERENCE TIME-DOMAIN METHOD, Annales des telecommunications, 49(11-12), 1994, pp. 649-658
In this paper, a static electromagnetic study of planar structures is
effected. The determination of electric and magnetic field distributio
n in a line cross-section is discussed. This electric and magnetic fie
ld distribution is used to deduce the characteristic impedance of this
line. The second application concerns the simulation of the line feed
when a transient analysis using the finite difference time domain met
hod is used to analyse the line behaviour. In the case of a microstrip
line, this new excitation method is compared to two excitations which
are generally used.
