Detailed information on the decay modes of very proton-rich heavy nucl
ei is a prerequisite for p-process nucleosynthesis models. We have the
refore measured beta-delayed protons and gamma-rays from mass-separate
d sources of Ag-96, Ag-98 and Cd-98, and obtained beta p branching rat
ios of 3.7(9) x 10(-2), (1.1(-0.4)(+0.5)) x 10(-5) and <2.5 x 10(-4),
respectively. The consequences of the experimental data for rp-process
calculations and the results from a statistical model are briefly dis
cussed.
