Abstract
Chlorodifluoromethane (HCFC-22), the most widely used substitute for c hlorofluorocarbons, is currently emitted into the atmosphere at a glob al rate of about 220,000 t yr(-1). In this work, national emissions of HCFC-22 for the year 1990 are estimated using the calculated emission s of CFC-12 as a surrogate distribution function. The releases so calc ulated match the sparse published data in most cases. Copyright (C) 19 96 Elsevier Science Ltd
