Jc. Rojas et L. Cruzlopez, FACTORS AFFECTING THE RESPONSE OF TRIATOM A-MAZZOTTII TO THE AGGREGATION PHEROMONE IN THE LABORATORY, The Southwestern entomologist, 19(4), 1994, pp. 393-401
The influence of temperature, relative humidity, color of light, subst
rate, distance, feeding, and amount of feces on the response of Triato
ma mazzottii Usinger nymphs to the aggregation pheromone was studied u
nder laboratory conditions. The bioassays were performed in a circular
olfactometer. Temperature, substrate, distance, and amount of feces a
ffected the aggregation behavior. The other factors did not seem to pl
ay an important role in the insects' response.
