Abstract
Six adult ewes of Sahelian Peulh strain were used to study the effect of fluorogestone acetate (FGA) on estrus characteristics. Each animal was observed for natural estrus and for estrus induced by progestagion al treatment. Results obtained showed that all ewes experienced estrus three days after stopping FGA treatment. Moreover, FGA precipitate th e time of ovulation in relation to ovulatory peak of LH. On the other hand, progestagene treatment have no influence on estrus duration, on ovulation rate or LH level in the plasma.
