Abstract
The administration of cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum to rats at 10 days of postnatal life (PD 10) alters the immunoreactivity for parvalbumin of the interneurons of the cerebellar molecular layer at late post-tre atment intervals. This can result in, but may be also a consequence of the elevation in the cytosolic calcium concentration. Changes in the intracellular calcium homeostasis may induce damage of the cytoskeleta l apparatus and impair growth of the cell processes leading to alterat ion of the ultrastructure of the cell.
