Abstract
The phenomenon of electromagnetic emission from deformed materials, ob served over thirty years ago [1, 2], for a long time has not been gran ted its proper scientific and practical importance. At the present tim e, the undeservedly small number of publications on investigation of t he phenomenon and testing apparatus has retarded the widespread applic ation of electromagnetic emission in practice. In this work we present brief technical characteristics, the principles of operation, and exa mples of the use of apparatus of the EKhO series of quality control of nonmetallic materials and objects.
