Abstract
A nondestructive method of monitoring the degree of wear of coatings ( aluminum and chromium) of turbine blades is proposed. The method is ba sed on determining the thickness of the coating by irradiating the sur face of the article with photons from a radionuclide and recording the characteristic radiation of the element of the coating or the substra te.
