The partially rough sphere model is adopted to study rototranslational
dynamics of molecule-surface scattering. Analytical expressions for d
istributions over linear and angular velocities are derived and averag
ed energies are calculated. The model allows to investigate the tangen
tial force influence on the outgoing molecular beam characteristics an
d describes out-of-plane scattering and nonzero 'orientation'. The eff
ect of the attractive branch of the molecule-surface potential and the
generalization of the model on trapping-desorption processes are also
discussed.
