Ep. Dekonenko et al., THE CLINICAL PICTURE AND PATHOGENESIS OF POLYRADICULONEUROPATHY IN TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS, Zurnal nevropatologii i psihiatrii im. S.S. Korsakova, 94(4), 1994, pp. 27-30
Based on examination of tick-borne encephalitis patients with ascendin
g polyradiculoneuropathy the authors describe the character of the dis
ease, its clinical picture and the results of laboratory studies, etc.
Differential diagnosis is made between the indicated syndrome associa
ted with tick-borne encephalitis and sporadic polyradiculoneuropathies
. A detailed description is given for the first time of the clinical a
nd pathomorphological picture of that gravest form of tick-borne encep
halitis. As regards the character of the clinical and pathomorphologic
al alterations, the ascending polyradiculoneuropathy associated with t
ick-borne encephalitis is meningoencephalomyelitis with the radicular
syndrome which often determines the disease gravity and prognosis.
