Ns. Sergeeva et al., MTT-ASSAY IN PREDICTION AND DETECTION OF REGULARITIES IN INDIVIDUAL CHEMOSENSITIVITY OF HUMAN OVARIAN CARCINOMAS, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 16(2-3), 1994, pp. 201-205
Individual chemosensitivity to different cytotoxic agents was examined
in 53 samples of human ovarian carcinomas using the MTT-assay. Compar
ison of the results obtained by the classic clonogenic assay and by th
e MTT-assay proved adequacy of the latter for prediction of chemosensi
tivity of ovarian carcinoma cells. Significant variability in chemosen
sitivity of avarian carcinomas to the same drugs was detected. Using a
statistical analisis of dose-effect curves (244 curves) four types of
the dependence of malignant cells' destruction on the dose of cytosta
tics have been found and, the types of dose-effect curves for each of
the antitumour agents studied have been determined. Proceeding from th
e data obtained a number of theses concerning improvement of the ovari
an cancer treatment using relevant chemotherapy are formulated.
