There was been studied the effect of co-ordinating Zn compounds contai
ning various number of amines and other agents in co-ordination sphere
on some indices of tumor cell metabolism and the growth of transplant
able tumors in mice. These compaunds were shown to inhibit ornithindec
arboxylase activity to different extent, to increase ribonuclease acti
vity and to alter the firmness of DNA-protein bonds in nuclear chromat
in of tumor cells. These compounds exert toxic effect on tumor cells a
t the concentration of 10(-5)-10(-6) M which is displayed to various e
xtent depending on the compound structure. The correlation was establi
shed between the degree of biochemical changes in tumor cells and the
intensity of antitumor effect of compound.
