Abstract
A 70-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and secondary amylo
idosis presented repeated consciousness loss. The pathological finding
s at autopsy revealed multi-organic deposits of amyloid A-protein and
so-called 'plexiform change' of blood vessels in bilateral temporal lo
bes. The arterial plexiform change, which is found in the lung specime
n of primary pulmonary hypertension, might be a new pathological cereb
rovascular change associated with RA.
