A 29-gear-old female was admitted to the hospital because of increasin
g exertional dyspnea, chest oppressive feeling and palpitation. Lung p

emities revealed multiple pulmonary embolism and a right popliteal ven
ous aneurysm as the probable source of emboli. B-mode/Doppler echograp
hy and magnetic resonance imaging were useful for the preoperative eva
luation. Following anticoagulant therapy and thrombolytic therapy usin
g intravenous heparin and urokinase, respectively, the popliteal venou
s aneurysm was surgically excised; the Nails contained organized throm
