Mc. Lepy et al., COMPARISON OF EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL L-X-RAY-EMISSION PROBABILITIES OF AM-241, PU-239 AND PU-240, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 353(1-3), 1994, pp. 10-15
Improvements in detection technology and spectra processing have resul
ted in higher accuracy in the determination of L X-ray emission probab
ilities in the 10-20 keV energy range. These values were independently
measured for Am-241, Pu-239 and Pu-230, using two types of detectors
(Si(Li) and HPGe). The experimental values of the total L X-ray emissi
on probabilities are consistent with previously published data. Theore
tical computations were carried out to complete the experimental resul
ts. This study validates most of the experimental results but also rev
eals some discrepancies.
