Abstract
An integrated imaging sensor system is being developed to enhance oper ations of robots and telerobotic systems used in nuclear industry. Thi s system combines a gamma ray image of the distribution of radioactivi ty with a video image of the area, allowing a rapid and intuitive dete rmination of the source location. The gamma ray imaging system is base d upon a position sensitive photomultiplier tube, a segmented scintill ator, and a pinhole collimator which provides high quality images in t he energy range of 0.1 to 1.5 MeV. The design and measured performance of a prototype of this system will be discussed.
