K- to L-shell vacancy transfer probabilities were measured for ten ele
ments in the atomic range 73 less than or equal to Z less than or equa
l to 92. Those measuring L x-ray yields from targets excited by 59.5 a
nd 122 keV incident photons, i.e., below and above the K edge of eleme
nts, were detected with a high-resolution Si(Li) detector. For compari
son with experimental results, theoretical calculations were made by u
sing available data on radiative and radiationless transitions. The ra
diative transitions of these elements were observed from the relativis
tic Hartree-Slater model which was proposed by Scofield [At. Data Nucl
. Data Tables 14, 121 (1974)]. The radiationless transitions were obse
rved from the Dirac-Hartree-Slater model which was proposed by Chen, C
raseman, and Mark [At. Data Nucl. Data Tables 24, 13 (1979)] The measu
red results were found to be in good agreement with theoretically calc
ulated values. The experimental and theoretical values were fitted ver
sus atomic number Z.
