Abstract
Processable statistical copolymers of stepladder poly(p-phenylenes), t he polymeric version of quantum well structures, are synthesized and a pplied as the active material for blue-light-emitting diodes (LEDs). T he photoluminescence quantum yield is exceeding 20% in the solid state . The LEDs show a strong blue emission with a peak maximum at 450 nm a nd an electroluminescence quantum efficiency of 0.2% at room temperatu re with a stable Al anode. [GRAPHICS]
