Abstract
This paper has two objectives. The first is to acquaint the reader wit h the standard-making organizations and provide an overview of the sta ndard-making process. The second is to provide the reader with a ready reference of standards and practices commonly used to specify and des ign the electrical systems in the petrochemical industry. The scope of this paper is limited to those standards used for work in the United States.
