Abstract
Enzymatic and ultrasonic degradations of the carboxymethyl derivative of the beta-1,3-D-glucan, isolated from the cell walls of baker's yeas t Saccharomyces cerevisiae, are described. The samples obtained upon p artial depolymerization of the two carboxymethylated glucans with the substitution degree of 0.56 and 0.91 were characterized by the distrib utions of their molecular weights and C-13-NMR spectra.
