Zj. Xiao et al., IMPLICATIONS OF THE TOP-QUARK MASS MEASUREMENT FOR THE SM HIGGS-BOSONMASS MH, Journal of physics. G, Nuclear and particle physics, 21(1), 1995, pp. 19-28
Motivated by the recent determination of the top quark mass by the CDF
Collaboration, M(t) = 174 +/- 10(-12)+13 GeV, we study the implicatio
ns of the top quark mass measurement for the standard model Higgs boso
n mass M(H) based on the phenomenological analysis of the radiative co
rrection DELTAr at two-loop order. We find that: (a) the central value
of M(H) is very sensitive to the variation of M(t); (b) the present d
ata are in favour of the heavy Higgs boson, M(H) = 340(-270)+770 GeV f
or M(t) = 174 GeV, but no reliable constraints on M(H) could be derive
d until the measurement of M(t) reaches high precision.
