Two features of great importance registered in experiments on hadron-n
ucleus collisions are the decreased inelasticity and multiplicity in i
ntranucleus collisions. In this paper we show that such behaviour is a
natural consequence of the geometrical two-chain model of multi-parti
cle production processes: only the forward-going chain can undergo sec
ondary interactions in the nucleus. A quantitative comparison with the
data is presented.
