Abstract
The quasielastic electron scattering from Ca-40 is investigated in the relativistic mean-field and non-relativistic quasiparticle approaches . The agreement with the new Bates data is observed. The theoretical p redictions not only reproduce the correct peak position but also the s trength of the response. The clarification of the quenching of the lon gitudinal response in the quasielastic electron scattering requires fu rther accurate experiments, especially the measurement at small angles .
