CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC AND CATALYTIC STUDIES OF A NEW SOLID-SOLUTION CDMOXW1-XO4

A new solid solution CdMoxW1-xO4 with the scheelite structure was synt hetized and its structure was determined From single crystals and from powders. The limits of the reciprocal solubility of Mo in CdWO4 and W in CdMoO4 have been checked. Several compositions of the solid soluti on have been tested in the catalytic mild oxidation of propane or prop ene and relations between the structure and the catalytic activity are proposed.
