Abstract
Reactions of H2Os3(CO)(10) with the diyne ligand HOCH2C2C2CH2OH and it s dicobalthexacarbonyl derivatives {Co-2(CO)(6)}(mu(2),eta(2)-HOCH2C2C 2CH2OH) and )(6)}(2)(mu(2),eta(2):mu(2),eta(2)-HOCH2C2C2CH2OH) have be en studied. The reaction of the uncomplexed ligands yields the cluster (mu-H)Os-3(CO)(10)(mu(2),eta(3)-O-CH=CH-C=C-CH3) with the completely rearranged starting ligand. The structure of this compound was determi ned by a single-crystal X-ray study. The rearranged ligand forms a pse udo-furan ring with the C-CH3 substituent in the ct-position. The reac tions of H2Os3(CO)(10) with the both dicobalthexacarbonyl derivatives yield the (mu-H)(mu-OH)Os-3(CO)(10) cluster as the main osmium-contain ing product. The structure of this compound was also established by a single-crystal X-ray study.
