[(2,2-BIS-ETA-CYCLOPENTADIENYL)PROPANE]-MOLYBDENUM AND A-[(2,2-BIS-ETA-CYCLOPENTADIENYL)PROPANE]-TUNGSTEN CHEMISTRY AND RELATED STUDIES

The compounds [M(eta-C5H4-CMe(2) mu-C5H4)X(2)] (where M = Mo and X(2) = H-2, Cl-2, Me(2), PhH; M = W and X(2) = H-2, Cl-2, Me(2), Me(PhCO(2 )), MeH) and [Mo(eta-C5H4C(CH2)(4)-eta-C5H4)X(2)] (X = H, Cl) are des cribed. For the complexes marked with an asterisk the crystal structur es are reported. These ansa-bridged compounds exhibit substantially di fferent reactivities from those of the unbridged analogues.
