A rare case of symptomatic splenosis in the right fossa lumbalis is re
ported. Abdominal ultrasound for recurrent right flank pain revealed a
solid upper pole renal tumor. Computerized tomography and magnetic re
sonance imaging could not clarify origin and dignity of the tumor. Int
raoperatively, the tumor extended from the upper pole of the right kid
ney into the right lobe of the liver. It was removed from the kidney b
y blunt and sharp dissection and was completely excised from the liver
, Histopathological examination yielded the diagnosis of a splenosis.
