Tris(dibenzylideneacetone)dipalladium and bis(dibenzylideneacetone)pla
tinum re act with N, N-bis(dicyclohexylphosphinomethyl)methylamine, (C
y(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe (Cy = cyclohexyl), and with N, N-bis(diphenylphosphi
nomethyl)methylamine, (Ph(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe (Ph = phenyl), to give the c
omplexes [M(dba){(R(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe}] (M = Pd or Pt, dba = dibenzylide
neacetone), R = Cy or Ph. Thezerovalent platinum complex [Pt(PPh(3)){(
Cy(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe}] can be obtained by hydrazine hydrate reduction of
a mixture of [PtCl2{(Cy(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe}] and triphenylphosphine or o
ne of cis-[PtCl2(PPh(3))(2)] and (Cy(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe. The crystal stru
cture of [Pd(dba){(Cy(2)PCH(2))(2)NMe}] has been determined and some r
eactions of the complexes are reported.
