Si. Andersson, LANDSCAPE-ARCHITECTURE AT THE ROYAL-DANISH-ACADEMY-OF-FINE-ARTS, COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, Landscape and urban planning, 30(3), 1994, pp. 169-177
The education of landscape architecture at the Copenhagen Art Academy
is based on the philosophy that the methodology of design is essential
ly the same for all design professions. Students training for differen
t design disciplines therefore work together during a large part of th
eir studies. Specialization comes in the last phase. All graduates rec
eive the same diploma: that of 'architect'. The school does not publis
h a detailed course outline. The education revolves primarily around d
esign projects in which teachers and students train jointly. Students
obtain required information when they feel they need it and ask for it
. As a result their level of knowledge varies markedly, but they all s
hare a high degree of design capability.
