Abstract
The method here proposed for the correction of finite-element meshes i s based on the modification of the coordinates of certain mesh nodes, the aim being to derive elements with an aspect relation as close as p ossible to unity. This entirely automatic method can be applied to any finite-element mesh corresponding to a 3D solid model, while furtherm ore it is quickly adaptable to various other types, including plane mo dels or surfaces. The outcome in each case in mesh of higher quality, a sound basis for a self-adaptive mesh scheme, and a promise of better results.
