Abstract
The Z-scan experimental technique has been employed to measure the two -photon absorption coefficient, beta, bound electronic nonlinear refra ctive index, gamma, and free-carrier refractive index, sigma(r), in bu lk, undoped InP at 1060 nm. We find beta approximate to 90 cm/GW, gamm a approximate to - 1.5 X 10(-12) cm(2)/W and sigma(r),approximate to - 0.4 X 10(-21) cm(3), and compare these values to theoretical calculat ions.
