Abstract
The problem of determining the sample sizes in various strata when sev eral characteristics are under study is formulated as a nonlinear mult istage decision problem. Dynamic programming is used to obtain an inte ger solution to the problem. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
