Behavior of supported Pt in O-2 chemisorption and (O-2-H-2) titration
has been studied. In Pt/SiO2, Pt/alpha-Al2O3 and Pt/gamma-Al2O3 Pt-0 c
atalysts are characterized by the following stoichiometric coefficient
s of oxygen adsorption (X), hydrogen adsorption (Y) and oxygen-hydroge
n titration (Z) X:Y:Z=1:1:1.5. The coefficients differ for Pt-Cl/gamma
-Al2O3 reforming catalysts. This is explained by the presence of elect
ron deficient platinum (Pt-sigma) with a coefficient ratio of X:Y:Z=0.
5:2:1.5.
