Rj. Veitch et al., RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN CHROMIUM DIOXIDE POWDERS FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING, Journal of Information Recording Materials, 21(4), 1994, pp. 321-334
The unique magnetic and electrical properties of chromium dioxide have
lead it to play a leading role in the development of high density mag
net recording. Massive progress has been made in developing new partic
les and the coercivity, switching field distribution and particle size
ranges have been extended to values previously believed to be impossi
ble. These new chromium dioxides now offer combinations of properties
unavailable to other recording materials.
