The photographic bleach process was simulated with a rotated silver di
sc by dipping the disc for a given time into a bleach bath. The silver
halide formed during the bleaching could accurately be determined by
electrochemical reduction. The bleach rate was obtained by varying the
bleach time using several experiments. Thus, one could study the infl
uence of several parameters on the kinetics of bleaching. The paramete
rs include the composition as well as the concentration of the bleach
bath, the pH, and the temperature. Furthermore, both the mixed potenti
al and the mixed current could be determined experimentally. The bleac
h process was quantitatively described by recording the current-potent
ial curves of the redox partner; taking the silver disc as electrode.
