Abstract
The addition of azomethine ylides generated from the thermal ring open ing of the corresponding 2-alcoxycarbonylaziridines on various vinylis ocyanates occured exclusively on the C=N double bond. Only one orienta tion of the addition was observed in accordance with previous work in this area. The structure of the epimeric imidazolidones obtained was e stablished by spectroscopic methods (RMN(1)H,C-13 and mass spectrometr y).
