F. Guerin et al., SOME EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ON THE DISPERSIVE BEHAVIOR OF CHIRAL CORN COMPOSITES, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 28(1), 1995, pp. 194-201
Planar samples consisting of a dispersion of high-permittivity ceramic
helices of left and/or right handedness in epoxy host media were fabr
icated. Their normal incidence reflection and transmission coefficient
s were measured in the range 5.8-18 GHz using a free-space microwave s
ystem. The corresponding rotation angles and ellipticities were comput
ed. A comparative study of the properties of the various composites is
reported here; in particular their effectively chiral or non-chiral c
haracteristics are demonstrated. The dispersive frequency response of
the samples is presented and compared with that of composites containi
ng metallic chiral inclusions.
