Abstract
In this paper we study the ionic strength dependence of the potentiome trically determined stoichiometric equilibrium constant (K) of the am ino acids a-alanine (CH3CHNH2COOH), leucine ((CH3)(2)CHCH2CKNH2COOH), threonine (CH3CHOHCHNH2COOH), and methionine (CH3SCH2CH2CHNH(2)COOH) i n artificial sea water at 25 degrees C and different ionic strengths. The results have been interpreted by the Pitzer interaction model.
