Abstract
Nine Alaskan wolves (Canis lupus) were found dead during spring and su mmer 1985; five of seven animals tested for rabies virus were positive . The 1985 epizootic altered annual den use patterns by wolves in nort heastern Alaska, but did not appear to affect population size. We prop ose that rabies in arctic wolves may be more common than previously th ought.
