Abstract
The cases of four young and previously healthy patients with necrobaci llosis are reported. All four patients presented with acute pharyngoto nsillitis and pulmonary infiltrates due to metastatic abscesses, and h ad neutrophil leucocytosis and hypoalbuminaemia. Blood cultures grew F usobacterium necrophorum and each patient responded to metronidazole. This syndrome deserves wider recognition.
