Abstract
Pain is a complex phenomenon. In order to understand pain perception o ne must attempt to understand pain physiology and how certain physiolo gic and biomedical changes associated with aging may influence the eld erly person's pain perception. Understanding the varied changes that o ccur with aging is very important in diagnosing and managing pain in t he elderly population.
