Abstract
The paper examines the potential of a model based approach for predict ing creep behaviour of 2 1/4 Cr 1Mo steel. Effects of prior strain and thermal aging on the shape of the creep curve have been experimentall y established. Particle coarsening has been identified as the dominant mechanism of creep, Creep curves theoretically simulated using partic le coarsening model have been compared with those obtained for a varie ty of initial microstructural conditions.
